Racó de ses Barreres – The Tiny Cove Right by the Road
This tiny sand-and-pebble cove is hidden at the edge of the Camí de la Victòria and often simply overlooked.
But if you stop here, you’ll find a quiet spot to dip in—far from the crowds.
Racó de ses Barreres – A Nearly Forgotten Gem Beneath the Pines
Racó de ses Barreres is a small natural cove in the northeast of Alcúdia, nestled between the protected area of La Victòria and the adjacent military grounds. It lies directly along the Camí de la Victòria, just a short walk before the better-known beach Platja de S’Illot.
The name translates roughly as “protected corner with barriers”—fitting, as the cove feels like a natural niche framed by stone walls, rocky slabs, and trees.
Access is via a short footpath directly from the roadside. The area is publicly accessible, though unmarked—perfect for explorers.
The shoreline offers a mix of:
- Fine pebbles and sand
- Flat rocky slabs
- Crystal-clear water, perfect for snorkeling or a quick dip
The cove is just about 12 meters wide, but has a good depth and is swimmable in calm conditions.
There’s no natural shade—if you plan to stay longer, come prepared.
Usually, you’ll have this place entirely to yourself—even in high season.
Its proximity to the natural park and hermitage-like surroundings also make it attractive for hikers and photographers.
Ideal for a spontaneous dip, a few peaceful moments, or a hiking break. There’s no infrastructure, no lifeguard, no signs – just pure nature.
By Car
Drive from Alcúdia toward Mal Pas – Bonaire, then continue along Camí de la Victòria.
Just before the picnic area of S’Illot, you'll find a small pull-off on the left side.
From there, a short footpath leads directly to the coast.
By Bus
No direct connection.
The best options are lines stopping in Alcúdia center (stop: Pol·lèntia, e.g. lines 302, 315, 322, 323, 324, 325, 327).
From there, it’s a 50–60 minute walk.
Alternatively, take line 323 to Bonaire (stop: Es Mal Pas)—about a 30–40 minute walk from there.
These TIB Mallorca lines will get you to Alcúdia, but a longer walk is unavoidable.

Linie 315 – Sa Pobla - Badia de Alcúdia
Linie 322 – Pollença - Port de Alcúdia
Linie 323 – Alcanada - Es Mal Pas
