Mallorca is more than just a holiday.
More than beaches, clubs, and tourist hotspots.
This is where Unexpected Mallorca begins – a project that shows the island as it truly is: diverse, surprising, and honest.
Not a glossy postcard image, but a real place with hidden trails, unknown perspectives, and small stories along the way.
Why I’m doing this
I live on the island.
And I’m discovering it – piece by piece.
On foot, by bus, by bike, or underwater.
And I’ve noticed something: Mallorca only reveals itself to those who look closer.
That’s exactly what I want to share here – with you.
No PR slogans, no travel guide clichés.
Just real impressions, tips, and observations.
What you’ll find on this blog
I’ll take you along on my journeys:
- Hidden coves and beaches
- Hikes with breathtaking views – without the crowds
- Dive sites with history, not just fish
- Villages where time seems to stand still
- Tips for those who want to live here – or already do
Every week, a new post is created – with words and pictures.
Sometimes practical. Sometimes poetic. Always personal.
The symbol – UXM
My logo is more than just a mark.
It’s the symbol of what truly defines Mallorca:
- Water. Wind. Sun. Mountains.
- A human figure with open arms – open to what may come.
- The letters UXM – standing for Unexpected Mallorca.
- And colors that evoke sunsets and flags – Mallorcan, Spanish, Balearic.
The logo stands for discovery. For curiosity. For new perspectives.
That’s the core idea of this blog.
A bit of transparency
I don’t get paid by hotels, agencies, or tourism companies to write content.
But yes – on some pages, you’ll find affiliate links.
If you book or buy something through them, it won’t cost you anything –
but it helps fund this project in the long term.
Because what began as a hobby deserves to grow.
Who is this for?
For everyone who’s looking for more than a vacation.
For everyone who wants to look behind the scenes.
For explorers, expats, adventurers, minimalists – or simply the curious.
Follow the sign
UXM – Unexpected Mallorca.
Everything else is just a postcard.
