Platja de Sant Joan – Mediterranean idyll with a traditional name
Platja de Sant Joan, sometimes also called “Sa Font de Sant Joan”, is one of the most popular natural beaches in the Alcúdia area – especially among families and locals.
Here you’ll find everything you need for a perfect beach day:
- Fine, light sand
- Shallow water entry
- Turquoise bay with gentle waves
- Natural shade from pine trees along the edge
Despite its popularity, the beach remains pleasantly relaxed – no mass tourism, no overcrowded parking. The bay is crescent-shaped, well protected, and offers especially beautiful light on the water in the mornings and evenings.
The name “Sa Font de Sant Joan” refers to a former freshwater spring in the area – now dried up, but still preserved in the local language.
The atmosphere is quiet and friendly, the surroundings well-kept and pleasantly natural. Also ideal for a picnic under the trees or a trip with children.
Ideal for families, peace-seeking beachgoers or early risers who want to enjoy the first light of the sun over the bay.
